Flu, advice please

5am and can't sleep. My back hurts and my throat is killing me. Feels like I'm swallowing knives and broken glass.
So I've got a few days of flu coming, what's your best advice to get over this as quickly as possible?

plenty of Brandy or Whiskey, Honey, Lemon & Hot Water in a large mug or pint glass. haver two or three of them instead of tea/coffee tonight

Spandex is typing bollox. Most of the highest ever recorded temperatures are due to bacterial infection. Bacterial sepsis, for example. Cheers

Paracetamol with a bit oif food, Codamol, gargle asprin for your throat. Already been said lots of fluids, vitamin C and a nice drop of Brandy/rum/whiskey.

I like the cheap "Beechams Cold & Flu" £1 Morrisons, maybe with some added Ibruprofen 30p. Don't be fooled by the more expensive failing solutions!

Man up, ignore it, stiff upper lip and all that, keep calm and carry on etc. Also try to infect as many people as possible.

You could of course have a throat infection, in which case antibiotics might help!

If you have a massive temperature you have a virus, like flu or a cold. Lots of fluids, rest and pain relief. When you can knock one out you're better
If you don't have a massive temperature it's a bacterial infection. Only get antibiotics if you're at death's door, if you are a normal, fit healthy person sit it out with some good nutrition.
You should always reject antibiotics unless your life literally depends on it

Alternate Paracetamol and Ibuprofen every 3 hours.
Get a throat numbing spray.
Download a load of podcasts or things to listen to.
Stay in bed.
Can't do anything but treat the symptoms so whatever meds will help with that. Lots of fluid and vitamin C, and settle in to ride it out.
